Job Purpose:-
Working with a Software Solutions organisation that develops, markets, installs and supports a suite of software for Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs). These are recognised as market-leading tools and functions and there is the potential to build and expand on the company's position through a process of continually refining its products and services to ensure that they continue to meet client needs. As well as generic product development, client projects are also undertaken involving bespoke development and/or complex implementations across large numbers of users requiring training, installation and support.

The purpose of this job is:-
•Using specifications to design, implement and test and features for the company's products that are based on .NET (C#) and VB6.
•To appropriately document these changes and help facilitate the handover to the Support and Training function.
•To update and maintain existing applications developed in C# and VB6.
•To provide third line technical support; to analyse and fix faults.
•To take responsibility for advising and estimating timescales for future product enhancements.

You have the following experience:-
•Good experience with development using; VB6, C#, SQL Server, Web-Services.
•Good analytical skills.
•Good relationship management and requirements gathering.
•Good working knowledge of basic technologies such as; Firewalls, proxy servers, routers, IP stack, networks, etc.
•Good organisational and time management skills in order to co-ordinate the variety of tasks needed to fulfill the job requirements.
•Good written and oral communication skills.
•Degree-level education or equivalent
•Experience with Filemaker Pro Object orientated analysis and design
•Software development methodologies
•Knowledge of Financial Services and/or IFA business processes.
