A prestigious FTSE 100 company is looking for an experienced Senior Desktop Support Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a blue chip company.
You will supervise a small team that manage 900 desktops at some 37 sites across the UK and Ireland. This role will involve mainly travelling to sites around the London area. There are 3 main sites you will be required to go to.
This role will also include some project management of IT related tasks and issues around the office moves and desktop and software rollouts and refreshed.
Other responsibilities will be -
• Resource management - sorting out workloads for Team Members
• Ownership and troubleshooting of desktop incidents from point of assignment to resolution;
• Client software fault diagnosis and analysis and fix;
• LAN fault diagnosis;
• Liaison with 3rd party technology groups to ensure timely resolution and smooth handover of faults.
Essential Skills
• Comprehensive PC/Laptop desktop support knowledge including:
o Windows XP professional, office suite, printers, windows file share permissions, remote admin software, VPN connectivity; LAN Desk;
• Good understanding of networking, server functions & Active Directory;
• Some project management experience or Supervisory experience
An MCP/MCSE qualification and a basic understanding of Citrix environment would be desired and beneficial.
You will have excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
