Position: Rapid Applications Developer X 2 Salary: £32-48,000 Location: Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey

The Rapid Applications Developers will be working on new and evolving products within Defence Information Systems group investigating and developing new and emerging technology options and solutions. The Developers will be specialising in delivering solutions to satisfy the requirements of Visualisation, Experimentation and Training requirements for a variety of both internal and external customers. The role will involve taking advantage of our existing capabilities and new technologies to deliver solutions and applications to short timescales. Key Responsibilities: ·Ensuring that requirements are mutually understood ·Scoping and generating application solutions to underpin business offerings ·Undertaking analysis of competitor solutions ·Assessing business capability gaps and creating and implementing plans for their closure ·Co-ordinating the application solution strategy across various market areas ·Managing key dependencies and interfaces/ways of working with internal and external customers ·Developing and briefing Insyte NSR capability and technology plans . Skills And Experience ·Core Application Development using Mlti-platform C++, C#, .net, Java and Oracle/MS database toolsets. ·GIS Application Development using (for example) ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ESRI ArcInfo, ArcSDE, ArcIMS etc.) ·Service Oriented Architecture / Enterprise Engineering development using IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, Dreamweaver Studio, Macromedia Flash and Cold Fusion. ·Experience using COTS Information Management/Information Exploitation systems such as Sharepoint. ·Experience using COTS GIS systems such as Google Earth, and integrating them into a synthetic environment.
