Systems Engineer / Network Support Engineer sis required by our Kensington, London client, an established and successful consultancy to provide support and consultancy work for their clients (mainly in London)
This is a high profile “hands-on” role will suit someone who is a self-starter and enjoys the opportunity to put their strong technical competence to use in varied environment where customer satisfaction is paramount. This will include the design and planning of new networks and installations and the provision of technical support with some project management. Support will include work with desktops, servers, Windows, Exchange, TCP/IP networking, thin client, Internet
access technologies, virus protection, security and firewalls.
To be considered you will have demonstrable experience troubleshooting desktop and server hardware and peripherals predominately in a Microsoft environment. This will include Windows Server 2000/2003/2008, Exchange, Active Directory, IIS, Windows XP/Vista and MS Office. MCSE or MCSA certification would be a bonus but is not essential, as would other manufacturers' accreditations (e.g. Red Hat, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Check Point, Citrix, VMware).
Experience with at least one of the following systems would also be an advantage: RSA SecureID, Check Point & Cisco Firewalls, Citrix Presentation Server, Linux and VMware.
In addition to your technical skills, you will be a confident communicator with the ability to explain complex technical issues to users and non technical personnel; be able to write clearly in order to create and maintain effective documentation of installed systems, have the ability to organise own workload and to prioritise effectively and have a results-oriented attitude and the determination to see a problem or project through to a successful conclusion.
