Position: Systems Engineer – Defence Communications Salary: £32-37,000 Location: Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, South West

This is an excellent chance to join one of the UK’s leading Defence businesses operating at the forefront of global technology across many domains and applications including Secure Data Comms Systems for Military and Government requirements You’ll be responsible for the requirement analysis of Network Management system customisation and the subsequent production and maintenance of finalised designs In this position, you’ll be required to deliver Requirement Capture and Analysis, documentation, Customisation of COTS Network Management tools and supporting testing phases – all to ISO quality standards Key Responsibilities and Experience ·Capturing and analysis of requirements using DOORS. ·Authoring and reviewing of technical documents. ·Updating and maintaining existing design documentation. ·Customisation of COTS network management tools. ·Liasing with the customer, including travel to customer sites within UK Technical Knowledge and Experience ·Understanding of principles of key elements of system design - functionality, performance, ARM, support, etc. ·Understanding of the Network Management Domain ·Network protocols - TCP/IP, with particular emphasis on SNMP beneficial ·Knowledge of IBM Netcool or CISCO Info Centre software package, CISCO Network Compliance Manager, CISCO Secure Access Control Server, CISCO IOS IP SLA features and Open LDAP databases would be beneficial If you are interested in this position, please send an up to date CV along with your salary expectations and availability to a.ross at jamrecruitment.co.uk If this role is not of interest to you, please forward it on to someone that might be.
