Application Migration Tester required to work in the defence sector, based in Salisbury, Wiltshire on a 3 month contract initially.

This role will require candidates to hold security clearance to SC level (or above) or be willing to undergo.

The application migration tester will produce the Migration Test Plan and approach for the migration of Microsoft and Oracle based applications, working in collaboration with the Test and Project Managers.

The skills and experience required for this role are:
Essential
• Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain clear and concise documentation to a high professional standard.
• Experience of application migrations including upgrading from older databases to current versions e.g sql 2000 to sql 2005.
• An Expert understanding of Software life cycle and testing methodologies.
• Competency and proven ability in the use of HP Quality Center for complete test management of Requirements, test cases, execution of tests, defect tracking and reporting.
• Required to write and execute test scripts/scenarios.
• Must have testing experience in DSDM, RAD and PRINCE2 environments using Oracle and Microsoft technologies including .Net framework, IIS, SQL Server 2000/2005, Oracle Application Express and Oracle 10g.
• A good understanding of application development and testing techniques/Methodologies

Desirable
• ISEB Foundation/Practitioner Qualification
• Experience of working within a defence environment
• Knowledge of test automation tools e.g. HP Mercury QTP
• Experience in the Use of LoadRunner or other Performance testing tools & techniques
• Knowledge of penetration testing including XSS and SQL Injection techniques.
