Web editor required to work in the public sector, based in Victoria, London on a 3 month contract initially.
The web editor will develop and edit content for our client's public-facing website and a number of extranets. The Editor will work as part of the Internet Services Team, liaising with internal policy contacts to deliver day-to-day content changes and larger-scale projects. This can include the client's website, client intranet and extranets.
The skills and experience required for this role are:
Essential
• Experience in an online editorial role
• Excellent editorial and web writing skills
• Experience of web publishing/content management systems
• Demonstrable understanding of the web, especially issues relating to accessibility and an awareness of web technologies and techniques
• The ability to generate user-focused content.
• Experience of communicating and engaging with audiences
• Attention to detail, coupled with high standards of writing, drafting, editing and proof-reading skills
• Ability to work productively in a consultative way with internal content providers.
Desirable
• Web related experience in the public sector
• Well-developed technical skills and/or knowledge of content management systems, metadata, HTML/XML, web authoring and publishing software, image editing techniques and database technologies
• Use of statistics to monitor and evaluate the impact of content
• Knowledge of the current UK education sector
