As the Java Applications Developer, you will provide input into the design, development and delivery of an enterprise level application and work alongside an external development partner or internal team.
Understand the business requirements of an application to ensure that any development or maintenance meets the customer's business requirements and the agreed design.
Be able to understand and use recognised frameworks, design patterns, tools and standards in relation to Java and J2EE.
Input into impact assessments for Requests For Change and provide estimates for development and delivery.
Work alongside other teams in the provision of a single seamless application service to the customer.
Produce and have a mature approach to documentation and distribution of knowledge.
Ensure that quality control and quality assurance procedures are performed in accordance with development standards.
Essential Experience/Skills
Strong Java and J2EE experience working with enterprise level applications in a clustered environment (using a mixture of JSP, Servlets, EJB's, web services, XML and Ant/Maven).
Experience and understanding of J2EE application servers
Oracle RDBMS 9i or 10g and SQL.
Excellent written and verbal communication (English).
Please note that you MUST be eligible for SC Clearance for this role. (Min 5 years in the UK)
