Systems Platform Officer (Windows)

Information Services Division (ISD) supports the University’s teaching, learning, research and administration activities, through the provision of innovative, high quality services, including information support and systems, library, administrative and learning resources.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Information Services Unit (ISU) Technical Services Systems team, which is responsible for Servers, Backup, Storage and Software Delivery. The University operates a large-scale heterogenous environment of UNIX, Windows and NetWare servers which provide a multitude of services spanning the academic and administrative functions of the Institution. The institution has around 19,000 students and 3,000 staff.
The Systems Platform Officer (Windows) will be responsible to the Systems Manager for the development, security and maintenance of the University’s Microsoft Windows based servers. This is very much a hands-on role and consequently the ability to demonstrate considerable (at least 3 years) practical experience of administering and configuring Microsoft Windows servers in an enterprise environment is essential. Significant experience and knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003 server, particularly in a clustered environment is essential.
