Job Title: Application Services Manager Location: Hertfordshire/North London Salary: £60k - £66k + Excellent Benefits Fast growing company providing comprehensive procurement and inventory management services currently require an Application Services Manager to work within their growing IT Team to provide support to key business users worldwide. The role Managing the availability of the key applications within the business on a global basis Managing a team of 8-10 UK based Application support staff and DBA and matrix management of 2 overseas staff Drive proactive change to improve customer satisfaction and call resolution targets Ensure compliance to development standards, change management and security policies Establish & maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for the application support function. Manage DBA staff and be responsible for the data integrity of the application landscape Establish and maintain reporting SLA's Largely hands off management of application support yet the ability to be hands on and step in as required is a necessity Skills required: Prior global software support management and/or development experience with a focus on following technologies - MS ASP, .Net, VB6, SQL Server, VBA, C#, .Net, ASP.Net Reporting Services, Biztalk, Webservices, XML Proven skill in hiring retaining, mentoring & coaching of staff Be a key contributor to the design and improvement of software development processes Strong Management and Information Technology experience Knowledge of and ability to adopt industry standard practices and procedures like ITIL for continued maturity of the support team. ITIL Manager/ Practitioner qualification is a plus The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with demonstrable ability to work well under pressure and prioritise work demands within tight time lines.
