The purpose of the role will be to manage the UK scope for all test projects for the design and manufacturing development programme. You will also be managing and directing the test activities of distributed test teams, both onshore and offshore and to liaise with test leaders in other countries to ensure complex test coverage. There will be line management responsibility with this role.

Principal Accountabilities:
Management responsibility for the design and manufacturing test team and their testing activities within the Cambridge office. This will include resource and budget planning. Day to day management of UK Test Leaders who have hands-on involvement on projects. Co-ordination with the test leaders and the outsource test delivery manager. Manage the delivery of all testing activities in accordance with the agreed project timelines. Management of projects delivered by independant test suppliers using on/offshore testing resources. To plan and estimate test projects in conjunction with project development plans and manage project delivery within the annual budget for testing. Knowledge, Skills & Experience required:
A good knwowledge of the development lifecycle.
Experience of the planning, design, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques and conforming to agreed processes
Proven experience of software testing and the management of test teams
Experience of testing a complex software product preferred
Experience of using a functional testing tool such as HP Quick Test Professional or HP Winrunner preferred
Experience of using a test management tool such as HP Quality Centre preferred
ISEB practioner certificate in software testing preferred.
