Senior Developer - Java - Peterborough, Northampton, Cambridgeshire, East Anglia - Java/J2EE/Oracle 10g, 9i/UML/OOP/Servlets/JSP

My client is an industry leading blue chip consultancy established for over 25 years providing solutions to a diverse array of blue chip clients principally in the retail sector. They are urgently looking to add a talented and experienced Java/J2EE Senior Developer to their rapidly expanding team. They are undergoing substantial growth and they have already hired 6 people across their IT teams this year. Moreover, they are Microsoft and SAP accredited.

The successful Java/J2EE Senior Developer will have strong experience developing with Java, J2EE, XML, Servlets / JSP, UML, HTML / CSS, and Oracle or SQL Server database skills for the back end. Experience of Object Oriented analysis and design is also essential. Any exposure to Apache Struts, JUnit, or Swing / AWT would be highly desirable as would Sun Certification.

You will work across the full project lifecycle on a variety of fresh greenfield projects as well as on some of the core existing applications, primarily in a web based environment. You will posess strong communication skills as your role will require you to liaise with key contacts within the business as well as external clients. You will also get to coach and mentor less experienced developers in the team and may also be asked to deputise for the Project Manager in their absence.
