WEB DEVELOPER

A prestigious FTSE 100 company is looking for a Web Developer. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business in one of its most exciting and prosperous times ever and to be involved with a number of projects.

Job Purpose:

Web Developer will assist with the development and support of a content management system which will be utilised to deliver key websites.
Working as part of a team, the Web Developer will use professional experience and initiative, and will operate in a flexible way to solve problems.
The programme has a high national profile, therefore awareness and sensitivity is required in handling the different interests and priorities involved.

Essential
Web site development and support using LAMP – PHP 5 and MySQL, based on Linux (Red Hat) and Apache Tomcat.
Hands on knowledge on
XML DTDs/Schemas, XSLT and data migration or
PHP Web Service clients and protocols
Use of Drupal or any content management system (CMS) to publish material on the web.
Has worked as part of a large team to both develop and maintain web sites.
Knowledge of xHTML and HTML.
Preferable
Knowledge of CSS.
Knowledge of Python, JavaScript.
Knowledge of Subversion source control system.

Accountabilities:
Working as part of a team to develop, implement and support both a CMS and the websites created using the CMS.
Assisting in the migration of existing web site content to the new CMS.
Support, training and documentation for the CMS.

Skills:
Self starter with ability to plan and prioritise workload.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Results driven.
