A prestigious FTSE 100 company is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Analyst to join an existing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a blue chip company.

The primary objective of the Desktop Support team is to ensure minimum disruption to the Client desktop/hardware environment as a result of any technical issues that can't be remotely resolved. Return to normal service is priority.

The Desktop Support Analyst will respond to user incidents and requests and ensure documented processes are kept up to date whilst abiding to service desk policies.

Essential Skills
• Experience as a Desktop Support Analyst
• Broad technical knowledge of PC's/peripherals and their architecture
• In depth Windows 2000/XP O/S and working knowledge of Active Directory & Office 2002
• SLA's environment
• Customer facing skills
• Ability to diagnose faults in the hardware/software/operating systems used by the customer
• Proven working knowledge of Incident Management tools in a support environment
• PC and printer hardware skills
• Ability to work under pressure & prioritise workloads
• Good written & verbal communication as well as administration & interpersonal skills
• Ability to work on own initiative, address and resolve problems in a pressurised environment
• Any other duties deemed required as part of the day to day role and project work.

Desired Skills
• Technical literacy is essential with specialist knowledge within desktop/hardware support being a pre-requisite.
• An understanding of the principles of ITIL would be desirable

Candidates will require or be prepared to undergo Security Clearance (SC Level) classification.

Initiative and the ability to deal with all levels of the organisation are considered of equal importance. Similarly, a smart and presentable image is essential.

The individual should deliver premium customer service and the ability to bring forward ideas to improve levels of service that support business goals.
