Vacancy- Operations Support Engineer (Mechanical) Location- Essex Salary- £20k-£30k + Benefits A subsidiary of a world leader is looking for a Operations Support Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for supporting the introduction of New Products in to manufacturing and to provide support to the manufacturing department, drawing particularly on their mechanical (sheet metal, machining etc.) experience. Responsibilities Include: ·Early involvement with Engineering & Design Office to ensure products are adequately designed for manufacture. ·Define methods of manufacture and produce routing & operating instructions. ·Plan and implement manufacturing shop floor layouts adopting Lean Manufacturing principles. ·Introduce innovation to production methods in order to achieve improved manufacturing efficiency. ·Initiate manufacture/purchase of tooling and design/manufacture fixtures to support the manufacturing processes. ·Provide technical support to resolve shop floor or sub-contractor problems related to products or processes. Successful candidates will have experience in production engineering and process improvement with significant experience of mechanical (sheet metal, machining etc) and electromechanical manufacturing processes. You will need to be Competent in the use of Office, Engineering Product Data Manager (PDM) and Manufacturing System (ERP/MRP) software tools.
