The post holder will become a team member in the Future Ground Manoeuvre Capability (FGMC) programme, a long term research programme looking out to the 2035 timeframe. The FGMC programme is split into a number of work packages, including future trends and impacts, battlefield effects, emergent and disruptive technologies, and future concepts.
The post holder will be expected to lead one of these smaller work packages and make significant contributions to others, employing a range of both hard and soft OA techniques and demonstrating a high degree of “systems thinking” ability.
The post holder will be required to analyse the results of study findings, draft technical reports for delivery to the Customer, and give a variety of technical and Customer presentations.
A candidate with knowledege of manoeuvre warfare and future technology developments would be beneficial, ideally with experience of OA modelling techniques and concept development.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Experience of applying a broad range of operational research and scientific analysis techniques to analyse problems and provide solutions.
Good understanding of the MoD and three military services (specifically the Army)
Proven record as a good team player, with strong communication skills (even when working to tight deadlines and under pressure)
The ability to convey complex and unusual ideas in a clear and concise way to a range of interested parties
The ability to effectively organise/prioritise your workload (and where appropriate provide coaching to assist others to do the same)
Proven track record of project delivery to time, quality and cost
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experience in concept development (specifically mounted systems concept)
Experience of manual wargaming
Background knowledge/interest in novel technology developments and applications
