My client; a Microsoft Gold partner currently has an exciting opportunity for an Application Support Analyst. This is a permanent role to be based in Belfast.
The purpose of your role is to provide an application support services to a number of different clients for systems developed or maintained internally.
Your duties will include:
Helpdesk:
•Ensure helpdesk is manned during the appropriate hours.
•Log all incidents and keep helpdesk up to date with latest status including details of fault resolutions.
•Provide an initial client response to all incidents logged on the Helpdesk including; reference number.
•Maintain knowledge base of common faults.
•Produce accurate and timely monthly reports for client and for internal reporting as required.
Fault resolution:
•Investigate – include discussion with users when required, gather additional information.
•Replicate fault in support environment.
•Implement appropriate workarounds where required.
•Provide software fix where appropriate
•Carryout detailed testing of bug fix and regression testing.
•Prepare release, and deploy to client environment.
•Ensure source control / configuration management mechanisms used e.g. Source Safe.
•Provide user support during testing.
Applications knowledge:
•Will have responsibility for complete applications or specific functional areas of an application.
•Should endeavor to become expert in these areas by acquiring business knowledge for these applications.
•Keep documentation up to date to ensure that it reflects the current system
•Coach and demonstrate the application to other team members or interested parties.
Your technical skills should include:
•Development / application support experience, C#, ASP, .NET, SQL Server 2000/2005.
Desirable skills:
•ITIL Service Management Essentials foundation.
