To illustrate our client's commitment to training and promotion and the sort of career progression the right candidate can look forward to, this role has arisen due to the promotion of one of the existing engineers to a SharePoint Specialist role. In fact, the last two candidates appointed to this role became Field Engineers within a year.

They are now looking to replace the current incumbent with another Microsoft Technical Support Engineer who will help man a busy helpdesk, taking responsibility for any calls involving infrastructure or platform issues, and also providing technical support internally.
Skills:
They will expect you to have a strong understanding of Microsoft networking technologies including Windows Server, SBS and all desktop operating systems. In addition you will need to understand Microsoft Exchange and ISA and have a sound knowledge of IP and wide area communications.
Experience with Citrix and/or SQL would also be an advantage as would a background in a technical helpdesk or consulting role. Attitude and ability to learn is key to this role. A background working for a reseller (VAR) would be preferred but is not essential.
