This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast growing FSTE100 based in the Thames Valley Area. We are looking to recruit a number of Test Analysts to start as soon as possible. The role responsibilities include but are not exclusive to;
Carry out the preparation and execution of testing material,
Assist in test data creation and record faults and subsequent fixes to meet the project deliverables stated within the agreed project plans;
Communicate the results of that testing clearly and unambiguously
Carry out or co-ordinate the actions resulting from the testing including supporting business users,
Implementation and regression testing.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Carry out work to an agreed project plan, producing deliverables in an
agreed timescale.
Work in a structured and logical way with a high degree of accuracy.
Review specifications, development and test documentation.
Liaise with development, business and systems support teams.
Define and identify functional tests.
Perform general and specific tests for all functional components.
Create test plans which include testing of business processes and documentation
Ensure the appropriate level of testing is completed to identify and resolve or escalate issues
Record faults and subsequent fixes.
Discuss faults and the results of testing with the business and systems analysts, which will require
feedback skills.
Monitor and report progress on all faults using the appropriate tracking tool.
Re-test applications.
Provide testing Management Information.
Attend internal and external defect analysis meetings.
Maintain regression and non-corruption test packs and carry out regression and non-corruption testing if development is via a third party.
Skills required:
Extensive Oracle/SQL knowledge
Strong Unix experience
Sound working knowledge of testing actuarial applications/calculations preferable but not essential
Basic knowledge of Visual Basic preferable but not essential
Proficiency in the use of Test Director
Thorough knowledge of formal testing procedures; generating test conditions,completion reports
Thorough knowledge of development lifecycle
Detailed business knowledge structure, systems, processes and procedures
Industry recognised testing qualification.
A high degree of tenacity with a thorough and methodical approach to work
Resourceful in finding solutions and identifying sources of help and information
Strong team player the testing stage is crucial to the success of the project and it is essential to contribute fully to the team effort
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
