Field engineer for a large government organisation supporting over Main responsibilities are User Desktop Support and Local Area Network Administration & Troubleshooting with an emphasis towards more technical issues. Supporting users both remotely using Dameware, Remote Desktop Connection software and by Onsite Support. Also responsible for installing any new equipment that arrive from PC’s to Printers. Windows NT4 domain using Exchange 5.5, and a new SAN solution using Active Directory. Using Symantec Ghost to create PC & Laptop images. Using Symantec System Console to monitor Anti-Virus definition files and correct any issues found. Organising, Prioritising and constantly updating Helpdesk calls through Heat Call Logging. Supporting Wireless handhelds (Blackberries, IPAQ’s). Supporting and Training the desktop / laptop users including Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP, MS Office 2000 & 2003 suites including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook along with Internet Explorer 6. Creating NT Users, Active Directory Users and Exchange accounts with home drives and profiles. Logging users on and ensuring they understand the new environment. Installation, Support and Repairing Hewlett Packard/ Brother Network and Local printers.
