Undertake complex project work across any aspect of the project lifecycle.Responsible for the isolation, identification and resolution of problems caused by either procedures, software or hardware, whether or not associated with the immediate system, offering specialist knowledge and guidance to others regarding technical solutions.Identify, analyse and advise upon the capabilities and potential of a wide range of hardware and software products and take the leading role in evaluating and recommending technical solutions.Produce technical documentation as required.Working to overall project plans, give technical leadership on complex issues in relation to projects of any size, planning, estimating, controlling and reporting accurately and effectively on the work of the project team.Set project objectives and undertake on the job training for other team members, monitor progress and give regular feedback to Project/Assignment/Line Manager.Develop working relationships both internally and externally to engender good working relationships and enhance own knowledge and awareness.Recommend solutions that optimise the use of current technology, whilst avoiding its limitations.Produce written reports and presentations for Manager, colleagues and the Business on various aspects of analysis undertaken. Maintain effective communications at all times.Job holders will have direct experience of ALL stages of major software project development and should have worked on ALL aspects of the project lifecycle. They will demonstrate expert knowledge of the applications used and how they integrate/interface with others and their use within the business. They will have a high level of problem solving ability, in the context of software development, a wide and detailed Retail Bank IT knowledge, coupled with deep knowledge of a prime technical specialism and a specific business application. They will be able to undertake the full range of job accountabilities.
