An Embedded Software Platform Engineer who is windows based is required for a leading and international organisation based in the Manchester area.

As the Embedded Software Platform Engineer you will be working with the Development department of this international organisation working along side other Embedded and Communications Engineers working on pioneering projects.

As the Embedded Software Platform Engineer you will be responsible for managing the entire Windows XP Embedded and Windows CE platform for all their product ranges. The Embedded Software Platform Engineer will be responsible for liaising with the Embedded Hardware and Software development teams and the communications engineering teams to ensure the hardware and software compatibility across the product range.

As the Embedded Software Platform Engineer you will need to have at least 2 years experience working and developing with embedded software platforms within a Windows XP and Windows CE platform, be able to select and integrate suitable computing hardware within an embedded platform, and proficient with Microsoft XP and CE embedded platform tools. You must be able to debug driver issues within Microsoft Windows and understand the performance and hardware constraints of an embedded platform. Ideally candidates will have experience of advanced windows embedded topics such as Write Filters & Overlays, experience of programming with C/C++ at a low level and knowledge of embedded Linux systems, though these are all advantageous.
