Insurance IT Consultant / IS Consultant - Enterprise Solutions. Working for one of the countries leading insurance companies. Your role will be to take a requirement from the business and put together a technical solution. You will not deliver the solution but work along side the third parties to enable appropriate and innovative use of IT during the planning and delivery of change.
You will need to have a broad knowledge of IT including areas such as .Net, J2EE, Architecture. This is a role for a technology all rounder not a specialist.
Your role will be very varied and will go across all aspects of the group IT department. You will be working along side Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Business Stakeholders and Head of Department to coordinate resources for mission critical projects. This includes all aspects of staffing, budgets, technology, project planning etc.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills, the ability to influence the business and a very broad technical understanding which covers all areas from application development, infrastructure, business analysis amongst others.
You will have experience in proof of concept designs, bid management and request for tenders.
Business knowledge around general insurance is highly regarded but not essential. However, knowledge of financial services in general (banking, life and pensions, health insurance) is.
