Unix Systems Administrator to work for a large IT Solutions Provider. Skills needed: Unix operating system – Solaris or AIX or Linux or HPUX, Logical volume manager, Backup/Recovery Technologies/Strategy, TCP/IP networking, Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Unix Services team is responsible for the technical support of a Unix estate of approximately 100 servers in approx 10 locations. The team supports a number of major public and private sector clients across Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK. The role is office based and the successful applicant will be expected to deliver operational managed services including such as support, design, technical specification and pricing services. Unix Sys Admin / Support role. Desirable skills only: Clustering, Enterprise Wide Backup Strategy, Enterprise Management S/W, SAN incl. disk arrays and switches, Scripting inc. Korn shell, Perl, Veritas Netbackup, Printer administration, User administration, DR Methodologies, Incident/Problem/Change Management. Based in Derry with possible travel to Belfast and England.
