This role exists within the Group Systems Department of PA Consulting Group. Group Systems is the internal IT support and development function for PA Consulting Group globally.
The role is based at our Cambridge site.
Purpose of Role: - Assisting in the implementation of new designs / technologies in line with the Group Systems Voice and Network and Mobile Connectivity strategy. - Efficiently manage voice-related support calls on a day-to-day basis. - Provide 3rd level support for existing telephony systems and act as a point of escalation for 2nd line support staff.
Dimensions of Role: - Reporting to the Network, Telephony and Mobile Connectivity Manager, your role will involve providing 3rd line support to voice/network related issues and creating an effective and focal point for escalated telephony support calls. As part of your day to day tasks, you will also be required to respond effectively to telephony issues globally and make appropriate use of various monitoring / auditing tools to diagnose and resolve complex problems. Part of your responsibilities will be to ensure that voice network related documentation reflects the current state of the voice network globally and that documents are available to all relevant parties via a simple and single platform. From time to time, you will also be assisting in the implementation of PA Consulting Group future converged network/voice architecture, in line with the current strategy outlined by the Technical Development and Architecture team. - Auditing / monitoring the telephone infrastructure globally and maintaining network documentation. - Provide training to support staff and end users on telephony services, producing training materials where required. - Work as part of a team to identify and rollout future IP Telephony solution within PA.
Technical / Personal Skills: - Technical experience in a telecoms team and an enthusiasm for modern voice/network technology. - Cisco IP telephony experience essential. - Solid understanding of voice features and functionality. - Previous voice network design advantageous. - Experience with corporate size dial plans. - Experience with global voice networks and regional protocol. - General Knowledge of networking, routing and LAN/WAN protocols - The ability to work flexibly and constructively when faced with changing priorities. - Customer focused. - Problem solving skills. - Ability to communicate effectively. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team
