About the role
The Strategic Procurement Hub is a strategic service that works with colleagues across the authority to maximise value from its 350m annual contract expenditure. Stakeholder engagement and collaboration throughout the Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management cycle is key to its success so effective relationship management together with innovating thinking and excellent technical procurement knowledge is vital.
The Procurement Policy Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining all procurement policies and guidance in order to inform and coordinate the Strategic Procurement Hub (SPH) work programme. Whilst working collaboratively with members of the SPH and wider council colleagues, the Procurement Policy Officer will be the council's principal policy advisor for procurement, and will take responsibility for developing and leading project teams to support their work, whilst contributing to other project teams.
A relocation package is available for successful candidates, subject to meeting the criteria.
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. The successful candidate will have sound procurement experience as well demonstrated knowledge and understanding within the specific category responsibilities.
