Server/Technical Support Engineer Waltham Abbey, Essex We require an energetic individual to work in a small IT team as Server / Technical Support. The successful applicant will be providing support directly to customers and internal departments via email, a ticketing system and phone calls. Additional responsibilities will include planning and carrying out website migrations and provisioning new servers. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and great people and communications skills to assist our needs. Requirements Technical Skills Required: * Linux - CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora * Microsoft Windows * Knowledge of networking concepts * An understanding of DNS * Working knowledge of internet services and software * Mail Servers, Web Servers, DNS Servers, SQL Servers, Firewall configuration * Working knowledge of commonly used web hosting control panels * Experience of remote administration of servers using SSH/VNC/Remote Desktop Competencies Requirements: * Strong service orientation * Excellent time keeping and attendance * Provide sound 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support * Installation, troubleshooting, configuration and support of a range of technologies * Liaising with 3rd party suppliers * Ability to analyse existing systems to identify weaknesses and inefficiencies * Ability to handle multiple tasks * Working knowledge of internet concepts * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills * Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality * Good attention to detail The hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 18:00, 45 hours a week. Support out of these hours may also be required, which will be paid at the normal hourly rate
