Master of Malt is a multi-award-winning online spirits retailer, recently named Global Online Retailer of the Year for the sixth time in seven years at Whisky Magazine's Icons of Whisky 2018. Re-booted in 2009, we're known not only for our vast range of single malt Scotch whiskies, fine spirits and more, but also for our market-leading focus on innovation and customer experience.
The culture here is one of hard work but also great fun. We like to think of our business as a creative, driven, fast-paced, informal place to work. We have a certain way of communicating, which is very definitely a conscious part of our brand. We're not afraid to take some risks, and we're not afraid to indulge our silly side.
As we are experiencing rapid growth, it is increasingly apparent that our production lines and logistics systems will benefit from the introduction of custom automation.
This will be in the form of complex custom designed and built equipment, which we will seek to develop using external automation partners, to smaller pieces of automation that we will likely develop in house.
As a result, the right candidate for this position will have extensive experience managing external vendors, and be able to demonstrate a track record of successful project management of automation development and rollout projects.
They will also be skilled electro-mechanical engineers, capable of putting together a smaller piece of equipment themselves.
Well versed with the need to measure the success of automation, they will have a great opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team of software engineers, to ensure processes are measured, and tweaked over time, to continually improve performance.
The successful candidate will:
Be able to demonstrate a history of working with complex electro-mechanical equipment.
Will have a track record of successful delivery of large capital projects
Will be interested in pursuing new technologies to solve problems, and will enjoy remaining current in the field
They will have formal education in Electro Mechanical engineering, either at degree level, or NVQ with appropriate on the job training. This would be an ideal role for someone with a Forces background
