Radius are currently seeking an Implementation Engineer for one of the UK's leading managed IT services providers.
This role exists within the Windows Services team which forms part of the Application Services technical tower within the Infrastructure and Private Cloud Practice.
The objective of this role is to provide Implementation services, Professional Services and Technical Support activities for a wide range of customers focusing in the Microsoft Windows product set.
The main aims of the role are:
? Provide implementation and support services on Microsoft Windows technologies ? Take part in on-call support rota for out of hours support and implementations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Perform hosting implementations in conjunction with external suppliers and the dedicated data centre operations team where appropriate ? Contribute to the implementation of new and modified systems in conjunction with clients to achieve identified benefits ? Contribute technical support on projects to enhance systems within a project team ? Maintain good liaison with other teams ? Carry out the design, development and implementation work on customer infrastructure systems using appropriate change controls ? Liaise with software and hardware suppliers where appropriate
Qualifications: ? Education to degree level or equivalent. ? Microsoft MCSA would be a distinct advantage.
Technical Skills: ? A good understanding of the following: o Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2012 R2, 2016) o Microsoft Remote Desktop Services o Powershell scripting o Hardware - Dell, HP o TCP/IP o DNS o Active Directory (including FSMO, GPOs and domain trusts)
? A basic understanding of the following technologies: o VMware vSphere o VMware vCloud Director o VMware vRealize Orchestrator o Networking (LAN, WAN, MPLS, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls)
? Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for colleagues and customers ? Ability to translate technical language for the appropriate audience ? Good understanding of IT Service Management ? Proven analytical and problem solving skills ? Decision maker, able to act decisively under pressure ? Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer documentation, hardware operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. ? Ability to write business reports and correspondence. ? Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, vendors and colleagues. ? Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. ? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. ? Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. ? Understanding of ITIL and ISO 20000/27001 processes. ? Experience of working in a support function with an IT service provider
