An Infrastructure Systems Engineer with a strong background in tooling is required to join a global data analytics company who are migrating to a cloud based infrastructure.
Role: Infrastructure Systems Engineer
As Infrastructure Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:
+ Build and maintenance of a standard set of cloud and COLO hosted tools + Subject matter expert in some of the following tools and have a good working knowledge of supporting and configuring others:
+ JIRA, Freshservice/FreshDesk, Pagerduty, CloudFlare, Solar Winds, New Relic, CloudHealth, Commvault, Tanium, SCOM, Commvault
+ Supporting tools integration's with ticketing and configuration management solutions + Knowledge and experience of configuring dashboards and reporting tools for use within an Operational environment + Troubleshoot and triage tooling and integration issues efficiently while effectively communicating escalations and outcomes + Facilitate and execute regular planned maintenance + Work with Product aligned infrastructure teams to assist with deployment of the tools to their environments (including migration from previous tools) + Manage tool lifecycle: Schedule and perform updates of tools, coordinating with stakeholders that depend on the tool
+ Monitor tool vendor releases, publish the upgrade roadmap and coordinate upgrades and testing with stakeholders
As Infrastructure Systems Engineer you will have experience of:
+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Computer Science or other relevant technical discipline
+ Significant experience in a technical support, ideally hosting in the Cloud, and on premise + Experience of deploying and integrating monitoring technologies + Extensive knowledge of scripting technologies required to build tooling integration's + Extensive and demonstrable experience of Incident and Problem Management, with an understanding of other ITIL processes, applied across multi-platform technologies + Excellent knowledge of application and infrastructure monitoring tooling and integration's + Strong knowledge of Infrastructure services (Cloud and on premise) + Strong understanding of Operating systems (either Linux, or Wintel) + Knowledge of Storage and backup technologies + Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solar winds, AWS Cloud Watch, New Relic, SCCM + Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) + Good understanding of Configuration management and its deployment at an Enterprise scale
