Reporting to the Head of Transformation and Change the Project Manager Practice Manager (PPM) is part of the leadership team in Transformation and Change working with the Head of GPMO and the Business Analysis Practice Manager to deliver a suite of change services to the business that enhance the quality and effectiveness provided to both internal and external customers.
The PM Practice Manager will lead a team of Project Managers who ensure that successful deliver of projects that support business objectives.
The PM Practice Manager is accountable for the day-to-day management of the Transformation & Change Project Managers and is responsible for developing and evolving the working practices, standards and the individual quality of Project Managers. Working with the Head of T&C to establishing a Project Management Centre of Excellence for Equiniti.
The PM Practice Manager should be able to build relationships across the Group and confidently engage with senior stakeholders and clients.
The Transformation and Change Project Management team is a new Group-wide function providing project management support to complex projects and change across Equiniti Divisions. As a result, the team have high exposure to the full complexity of products and processes offered by Equiniti. They work closely with the Group Project Management Office and business analysis teams to deliver success projects.
Define, implement and maintain the project management tools and methodologies in use by the team in order to drive quality and consistency of delivery across divisions.
Facilitate the establishment of team structure and roles, hiring and on boarding Project Managers and ensuring adequate resource and talent allocation.
Act as quality assurance for the project management team output ensuring that the team adhere to the standard methodologies in the as defined by the Group Project Management Office.
Continuously improve our group approach to projects, specifying the methods and techniques most appropriate in the situation at hand.
Develop the project management competency framework and career development path.
Assist and coach junior members of staff to conduct project activities by providing direction and guidance.
Advise and develop the project management team to utilise industry best practice methodologies and to gain appropriate PM qualifications.
Be an ambassador for the Project Management function within the organisation.
Own and support the Equiniti leadership plan in regards to Project Managers.
Management of the PDR process for the Project Manager.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
Proven line management experience in a senior project management position, ideally running a project based capability function.
Experience of leading and developing high performance project teams.
Extensive experience of establishing and maintaining standards and defining best practice.
Personable demeanour with gravitas to liaise with senior management and end users and any level using a collegiate approach.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and relationships across the company at all levels and with clients.
Experience of leading and managing a project team on a variety of large scale projects.
Demonstrates the ability to understand the numbers associated with complex projects.
Experience creating an environment that encourages information sharing, team based resolutions, cross training and process improvement within the department or area managed to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and services excellence.
Background of understanding of regulatory and/or financial service environments is an advantage but is not a prerequisite.
Qualifications, degree or equivalent level of experience.
Evidence of suitable professional qualifications to include at least one of the below
APMP/ APM PQ (practitioner qualification)
APM RPP (registered project professional)
PMP (certified project management professional)
