Purpose of your role:
The IT Asset Management Analyst will join the Service Asset & Configuration Management team who are responsible for operating the IT Asset Management Service across IT.
As part of a Service Improvement Program (SIP) within Service Management, the team will be increasing its responsibilities and accountabilities by growing to support new and expanded IT Asset Management processes, functionality, services and activities. The team will deliver the SIP largely to itself meaning that there will be a requirement for this role to operate the improvements in the Run/BAU environment.
The team is consistently looking to review and improve its current ways of working and along with the transformation program, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to evolving the way the function operates, ensuring best practice processes are adopted.
Produce the data for a set of quantifiable measures used to evaluate the success of AM in meeting objectives for performance as defined by the strategy.
Contribute to further developing/improving the Asset Management function.
Develop Service Management and Discovery tooling to meet the requirements of the Strategy.
Operate the Process and Governance whilst producing and maintaining the Standards.
Promotion of Service through a plan of transparency, reporting and training.
Ensure benefits are realised through an operational capability.
Ideal skills and experience:
Proven experience of operating Software Asset Management practices Experience of introducing SAM (ISO19770) processes over-and-above SACM Ability to perform under pressure Ability to understand software contracts and installed software data to produce and interpret licensing statements Detailed knowledge of Software licensing (one or more of SAP, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe) Methodical and organised with an attention to detail Good SAM industry knowledge Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities Excellent planning and organisational skills High attention to detail Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Must be highly reliable, trustworthy and honest SAM Certification desirable ITIL Qualified - Foundation Minimum, ideally Expert IT asset management and discovery tool experience (pref. Flexera, SolarWinds, SCCM, AD) IT Service Management Tool experience (pref. ServiceNow) ITIL V3 foundation certificate
