Job Description: Junior Business Analyst

Job Summary:

Reporting into the Business Systems Analyst, the Junior Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the success of development sprints, working closely with internal stakeholders to solicit and document business requirements and communicate business requirements to the development team using written specifications. You will need to have excellent stake holder management skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas and functionality to in a simple and visual manner.

This is a junior role where you will work on a mix of IT and business change projects as part of a busy and talented Technology team, you will have great colleagues to work alongside / share ideas and best practise, but the autonomy to work independently too.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyse business requirements for our bespoke enterprise system (CHASE) from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate business requirements to the CHASE Development Team using written specifications and wireframes
  • Assist other teams to understand the needs of departments and business for projects other than CHASE
  • Analyse complex business scenarios and recommend changes and gain agreement, usually from senior management, to introducing your recommendations to the business
  • Configure and administer business systems to meet business requirements
  • Manage internal ticketing system for the Development team
  • Calculate and demonstrate the return on investment for the development required to meet specific business requirements
  • Carry out UAT testing on new functionality developed by the Technology team to ensure it meets business requirements
  • Support the roll out of new functionality and processes
  • Exposure to several greenfield projects
  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, per the needs of the Company

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge: (job related / professional)

  • Experience working on projects to meet business requirements/objectives a must
  • 1 or more years experience as a business analyst or related role preferred
  • Skills BDD, Power BI, Wireframing (visual demonstration of requirements)
  • Good IT skills with strong competencies in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc preferred
  • Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures preferred
  • 5 year checkable history

Skills: (technical / managerial)

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Have the ability to solve problems independently, logically analytically and ceatively
  • Ability to breakdown and communicate technical information to non technical audience
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate, influence and engae with all levels
  • Natural affinity for technology with a desire to improve technical skills
  • Ability to understand, define and document business requirements in a clear manner that is relevant to current or proposed solutions
