Job Title: IT Service Desk Analyst
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: 20,000 to 22,500 DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5pm Friday 8.30am - 4pm

We have a new opportunity for an experience IT Service Desk Operative to join an established IT team based in Poole.

Job Overview

Working within the IT team, this role will strengthen the existing team, focusing on the continual support of the company wide IT infrastructure and systems.

Primarily focussing on 1st line Support, the role involves offering support and technical assistance to members of staff who are using software, hardware, or other computer systems and need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests and remote access to their computers.

Main activities/responsibilities include:

  • Installing and configuring software applications/computer systems
  • Responding to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.
  • Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
  • Research questions using available information resources
  • Support, maintain and monitor internal systems.
  • Documenting resolutions for future reference.
  • Redirect/escalate issues appropriately.

Required background and knowledge:

  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Dependable, enthusiastic and personable.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to deal with people at all levels within the organisation.
  • Familiarity with both PC and Mac Hardware and Software
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Proficiency in English
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Previous experience in IT Helpdesk / Support role is also beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence

Required Technical skills:

  • Windows Desktops
  • Administering MS Exchange
  • MS Office applications
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Active directory

Desirable Technical Skills:

  • Windows Server
  • Virtual infrastructure including Thin Clients.
