About the role AMT-SYBEX have an opening for a Test Manager and are looking for an enthusiastic individual for this challenging position as part of our development team. The individual will have the opportunity to organise all testing activities during each stage of the test process, as well as co-ordinate with senior management on the project and testing strategy.
Role responsibilities include:
Responsible for Test Lead and Testers' performance and general day to day managing of the team.
Review customer specifications
Support and provide input to Proposal and Estimation processes
Provide high/low level accurate test effort estimations
Creation of test strategies and plans to clearly define the test approach that will be taken for allocated projects
Commercially aware and being able to balance the needs of providing a quality testing solution in contrast to being able to deliver the product on time and within budget.
Directing the adoption of the automated test processes throughout the software development team.
Design and execution of test scripts that provide testing coverage of new and modified functionality along with regression testing within the software development lifecycle.
Liaise with Project Manager's, Business Analyst's, Consultants and Developers to identify and assess new development or configuration tasks with the functions and objects affecting them
Support the Technical Project Manager in scheduling and planning of test activity - responsible for the testing phase of the delivery project plan
Managing the daily workload of Testers and giving direction on projects
Your experience will include:
Software testing experience
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Experience of recognised Test Management tools (VSTS, HP Quality Centre etc.)
Strong understanding of different testing techniques and approaches with the insight to know when best to use them
Experience of leading, scripting and execution automated regression/performance testing
Formal documentation creation
Demonstrable experience in managing/leading the QA element of multiple software development projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
10+ years of industry experience developing and testing software
Experience designing and building test tools and frameworks, and delivering test automation suites
Knowledge of automation frameworks
Improving code quality through interaction with development team
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Testing of Web and development applications
Experience of Test Analysis, Test Design, Execution and Defect Management across large projects
ISTQB/ISEB Foundation Certificate in Testing.
