A great opportunity has now arisen for an enthusiastic and capable Project information Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO) at the British Antarctic Survey.

There is huge variety in the projects we are delivering, so a chance to gain experience in many aspects of infrastructure delivery including the specific Antarctic factors such as logistics, environment and science interfaces. Most of the time you will be based at the BAS head office in Cambridge surrounded by a large team of highly committed people passionate about delivering and supporting polar science. There will also be opportunities to spend time at our stations in Antarctica during both the development and construction delivery phases of the projects.

We are looking for someone with data management experience, an ability to work with diverse range of stakeholders strong communication skills and experience of providing support to project managers.

NERC/BAS takes delivery of its new polar research vessel, the Sir David Attenborough, later in 2018. This is part of a 225M programme of works, which also includes a number of land based infrastructure projects, such as wharf upgrades and station buildings and services improvements at the research stations at Rothera, Signy, King Edward Point and Bird Island. A separate programme of station improvements at Rothera (the UK Antarctic Hub) has also been agreed giving a total budget of around 300M to be invested in improving our Antarctic infrastructure. These projects are known collectively as the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme (AIMP).

NERC/BAS has entered into long term partnering contracts with our Technical Advisor, Ramboll, and our Construction Partner, BAM Nuttall, in order to deliver this challenging programme over the next six years.

BAS has set up a Project Management Office (PMO). This role is within the PMO and is responsible for providing information management support to all aspects of the AIMP.

Maths and English (NVQ or equivalent).

- Support the Senior Infrastructure Programme Manager and work with the other BAS PMO team members in delivering the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme.
- Work with the Project Management Officer to ensure rigorous compliance with the Project Wise Common Data Environment information management system and the Project Management Plan.
- Manage the iShare team site and ensure it is always up to date.
- Work with the Technical Advisor, Ramboll, and the Construction Partner, BAM Nuttall, to ensure the projects are fully compliant with BIM Level 2, Government Soft Landings and aligned with IBM Maximo for future facilities management.
- Assist in the coordination of the Employer review processes for the projects.
- Communicate the work of the AIMP to the wider community.
- Prepare highlight reports and any other progress reports required by the programme.
- Visit research stations as required.
- To undertake other duties as required by the Director of BAS.
