One of the UK's largest retail banks is bolstering their existing team with an extra contract project manager on a brand new project to completely redefine the way that they track and store user information across all of their applications. This project includes creating a rich UI and interfaces to both internal and external partner applications.
The primary requirement is that you ensure the project board is set up and managed effectively. You will establish a forum to give visibility on milestones and deliverables, design and instigate reporting, setup processes around decision-making and generally create empathy and accountability across all stakeholders.
Alongside this we would expect you to assist the Product Owner in creating and managing user stories, ensuring that they match the expectation of the stakeholders, as well as the available resource of the development team for each two-weekly scrum sprint. It will be necessary to be at all times aware of resource and capability throughout the project, requesting support where necessary.
You will be will be adept at planning and allocating resources, managing risk and ensuring contingency for software-based projects and show a clear understanding of potential resource gaps and the budgets and skills needed to potential plug them. We have quite an advanced Agile way of working so far including 2 weeks sprints, reviews, retros and daily stand-ups. We would expect anyone in this role to have experience working in an agile environment multiple times.
