As a leading licensing business, PPL enables companies and organisations across the nation to play recorded music, whilst ensuring that musicians and artists are compensated and recognised. They are now looking for a Technical Tester to join their team.
Within a fast-paced and vibrant environment, you'll have the chance to make a positive, long-lasting impact on PPL's applications.
As a Technical Tester, you'll be responsible for planning and implementing testing activities for PPL's business applications.
Reporting to the Test Manager, you'll focus on testing PPL's Repertoire, Usage & Matching, and Member Management portals and Rights & Distribution solutions.
These solutions comprise of a range of integrated bespoke, packaged and SaaS components with significant data processing functionality, as well as web portal and workflow functionality.
Liaising with colleagues, you'll ensure that solutions are effectively tested at all levels against agreed functional and non-functional requirements.
To be considered, you must have a degree (or equivalent), ideally in computer science or a related subject. Experience of the following is also essential:
- Working in an IT consultancy or blue chip environment - A technical development background - Working in a professional testing role, including as a technical test analyst - Testing data warehouses (DWH) - Technical test preparation, analysis and execution, following agreed requirements and acceptance criteria - Testing third party supplier solutions and working with 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues - Participation as a tester in one or more medium to large (1,000 man day plus) systems development and implementation projects - Testing in both Waterfall and Agile environments, making use of continuous integration - Testing in complex Portal, Oracle and Unix environments, particularly Java, WebLogic Portal, and Orcale PL/SQL
The ideal Technical Tester will have an ISEB or other formal training or a certification in testing, but this is by no means essential.
