The primary function of this role is to manage a software team to support the delivery of bespoke software extensions and upgrades to a wide range of both small and large scale clients.
Leading a team of Technical Consultants to deliver extensions / bespoke software implementations for small to large scale clients. The successful candidate must have previous management experience, strong communication and leadership skills and be able to demonstrate ability to develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships. They must possess initiative to produce improvement initiatives both internally and with clients.
The primary responsibilities are to ensure efficient and effective use of resource and delivery of high quality solutions.
- Lead and manage the extension team: regular reporting, resource planning, appraisals, personal development (setting and reviewing targets, contributing to remuneration conversations), recruitment of new team members - To develop best practice and facilitate sharing knowledge and experience. This will include SWOT analysis of current processes and recommendations for improvements to the implementation methodology - Maintaining a resource model to deliver the business commercial targets. - Interfacing with commercial departments (Sales and Account Management) on their needs/requirements for support from the Extension team - Reviewing the Customer Journey and identifying and implementing any necessary improvements - Interfacing with the Product Development teams to represent the interests/requirements of the extension team and provide input/feedback on proposed scope and solutions - Build relationships with clients and provide a point of escalation for issues or complaints - Define, measure and develop competencies of the team members - Overseeing project delivery, completing internal project reviews and capturing/sharing any learning points. - Liaise with internal teams to ensure high degree of client satisfaction is achieved. - The role may involve some travel with a variable amount of work at client sites.
As a Manager you will be expected to demonstrate a range of skills and experience. Ultimately you will be responsible for guidance and development of your team so it is essential you are a great communicator, able to inspire your team and spot potential. People management skills are a must.
The individual will have at least 5 years' experience of managing teams delivering and coordinating complex IT change management projects. It will be highly beneficial for you to be technically competent, or have a strong learning aptitude in this area, and have proven experience and the ability to demonstrate:
- Planning, implementing, managing and evaluating projects. - Business analysis and requirement gathering in relation to software application implementations - Prior practical experience and interest in development using web and/or SQL technologies - Assisting clients with planning and managing change - Strong people and communication skills - The ability to build a network of relationships at all levels within an organization - Being confident and respected by colleagues and clients - Being strong and resourceful when necessary - Having a proven ability communicate and negotiate with people up to Director level - Understanding of key applications (intranet, CRM, financial, MS Office etc.) - Successfully delivering against targets. - Appreciation of the potential commercial value of successful projects. - Experience of key technologies; .Net, SQL, HTML would be an advantage
