Core Network Consultant- Birmingham- £50,000-£55,000 +benefits
Are you looking to join a company that has experienced 200% growth year on year. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading business to business networks solutions provider. You will be joining their Birmingham based team as a core network consultant.
KEY RESPONSIBILTY
The successful candidate will be CCIE qualified or hold relevant qualifications and senior technical expertise in both enterprise and ISP sectors of the industry. The candidate will drive technical strategy, interface with customers and suppliers at a senior level, develop core IP strategy. You will have excellent knowledge of MPLS, BGP, Security, Layer 2 switch architectures. You will have previous exposure of designing, building and maintaining core ISP networks.
CORE FUNCTIONS
(What are the 5-7 most important aspects of the role - e.g. budget responsibility, people management, revenue generation, etc. Please use dimensions wherever possible e.g. number of people to manage, size of revenue targets, etc).
The successful candidate will be required to:-
Design and build core IP MPLS based networks
Develop technical strategy for the companies IP core network
Design and implement client based IP networks
Develop and implement new products and services
Drive core network design
Implement "best practise" technical strategy and network architecture
Commercial awareness of products, services and IP routing and switching platforms
As a senior network consultant you will be expected to take responsibility for the organisations core IP network. You will design, build and manage the next generation of the Companies core network. MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS and layer 2 switching must all be key skill sets. You will be responsible for ensuring the companies core IP network scales to meet the strategy of there 3 to 5 year business plan.
TECHNICAL / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Essential (Max 4)
- CCIE or relevant industry experience
- 5 years core ISP experience-
Desirable (Max 3)
